Callahan & Freeman’s solution for a long term planning office at a funeral home received a TEXO 2020 Distinguished Building Award. The building utilizes precast concrete with stone veneer to develop space for nine employees, kitchen, conference, training and storage functions. A consultation space for their clients orbits directly off of the lobby, while a central corridor provides circulation for the remainder of the small building. The ledgestone pattern exterior is accented with wood trellis components which provide shading elements as well as platforms for climbing plants.
