Callahan & Freeman’s design for a weekend residence clusters bedrooms around a family room, with an open kitchen and dining area helping define that main space. Exposed wood trusses and dormer windows located at the roof help introduce natural light into the residence. The barndominium exterior is heightened by metal siding, stone at the entry and a large covered front porch framed with wood timber. A detached garage, rear covered patio and landscaped pool area help enhance the back yard.

Johnson Residence

Callahan & Freeman’s design for a renovation to an existing one story 4,147 SF residence includes a 3,358 SF second floor addition. An open plan combines the living, dining, kids area and kitchen spaces into one large volume with the primary bedroom suite and guest suite orbiting. The second floor provides additional bedrooms, the family area, and fitness spaces adjacent to a central open stair. Utility rooms are provided on each floor, and a rear covered balcony overlooks the pool below. The home is clad in painted brick veneer with metal roofing accent at the front porch.

Hanzik Residence

Callahan & Freeman’s design for a linear stone and stucco residence located on a terraced site includes a split level, two-story 4,033 SF home with a Mediterranean style façade to meet the owner’s style choice. The dining and living rooms are adjacent to the entry while the family room and kitchen space overlook the lower living room to the front and the patio in the rear. The master bedroom suite is off to one side where it opens onto a secluded front deck. The other 3 bedrooms and 2 baths occur on the opposite side of the home. The 4 car, rear entry garage is located adjacent to the winding driveway which gently climbs the steep site.

Hamel Residence Renovations

Callahan & Freeman’s solution for a remodel to an existing 4,322 SF two-story residence includes an interior remodel providing new finishes and a design for exterior stucco replacement throughout the wood framed structure. Additionally, the entire attic area over the garage was converted into a large closet and dressing areas for the Master Bedroom Suite. The home is located on a 1.09 acre wooded site and a swimming pool, deck and landscape area is currently being designed for this ongoing project.

Knowles Residence Addition

Callahan & Freeman’s design for an addition and renovation to an existing 3,600 SF residence includes a 1,945 SF master bedroom and bath addition which creates a courtyard feel to the back patio. A central gallery which displays the couples’ artwork collection connects the existing residence with the brick veneer addition, which captures natural light and frames the views into the newly created courtyard patio.

Humphries Residence

Callahan & Freeman’s design for an addition and renovation to an existing 3,540 SF residence includes a 1,635 SF master bedroom and bath addition which creates a courtyard enclosure surrounding an existing pool. The layout of the seamless brick veneer addition hinges upon a tapestry studio and circulation, which provides seclusion for the master bedroom portion of the residence.

Vitorino Barndominium

Callahan & Freeman’s design for a weekend residence orbits bunk rooms and bedrooms on either side of a double volume great room. The barndominium appearance is heightened by wood siding, sliding barn doors at the entry and a large covered rear wood deck which bands the three distinct volumes of the house together. The house being situated on a heavily wooded hilltop provides views of an adjacent lake. A detached garage, hot tub and pickle ball court help the inhabitants engage with the yard.
